Training should be fun for you and your dog. I teach owners how to work with their pets as a team. The skills a dog needs to have to be a good pet are already there. We need to show them what will work and what won't.
Think about it for a minute. Every dog knows "how to" sit, lie down, stop barking, walk slowly, pay attention to you, and come to you. They also know "how to" jump on people, bark for fun, pull on leashes, and play chase games. We need to show them what we want them to do, teach a word and/or hand signal for it, and discourage the other behaviors.

I need to find out more about you, your dog, your training problems and your goals before I can quote you a price. To give you an idea I charge $100per hour for lessons in your home. We may book only one lesson or we may need a five hour course. Please take a moment to fill out the Training History Form so that I may begin to assist you. I found Chrissy and Happy Critters through another trainer who didn’t cover the area in which I live. I had recently adopted a rescue dog who was having separation anxiety and needed some basic training. After talking with Chrissy on the phone I felt we had found the perfect trainer.
She’s very patient, not only with the dog, but with the owners (who in this case needed the training more than the dog). We set up our first meeting and by the time she left 2 hours later I knew I had made the right decision. My dog was already doing his “wait” and “stay” and “off".
Over the next four weeks we worked on all his basic commands as well as the tips she had presented for getting him over his anxiety associated with his crate.
Overall I was very pleased with our sessions and would highly recommend Chrissy & Happy Critters to anyone looking for a trainer.
