What Are The Advantages Of Private Lessons?
You have a trainer's complete attention on your training goals!
In a group class the instructor has to make time for everyone. You may not get enough "one on one" help and your training goals may not be part of the class.
We work with your pet's problems in the environment where most problems occur!
A group class can't work on problems such as barking at your door, jumping on your visitors, or begging at your table. They can only give you instructions for how to work with the dog at home. They may be able to practice the skill in class if other students have the same problem or if they can recreate the situation in a classroom setting.
We work around your schedule!
A group class meets at a specific time each week for a designated number of weeks. Some schools won't allow you to make up missed classes. I can work around your busy schedule.
I work with you and your whole family!
If you have a large family or small children you may not be able to bring the family to a group class. For training to be the most effective everyone in the family should understand the process and be using the same techniques. Small children can learn the basics and learn to be safe around the dog(s).
We can work with more than one pet in our lessons!
If you have multiple pets a school may give a price break for multiple pets in the same class. I charge for my time, not for the number of pets.
I teach you How to socialize your dog or puppy!
A group class will NOT socialize a dog or puppy! The only person who can do that is you, the owner. A trainer teaches you How to socialize a dog or puppy. Socialization refers to teaching the dog or puppy about the entire world. It is about teaching the dog how to respond to new people, new animals, and new situations. No one has more every-day contact with your pet than you, and I can teach you how to socialize them with your every-day interactions.
